Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

At Hollyfast we strongly believe that every child is unique and special, so we aim to provide an inclusive and values driven curriculum, which has been designed specifically for our Hollyfast children and families.

Our curriculum aims to ensure the best possible progress and personal achievement for all our children whatever their needs or abilities. We are committed to developing cultures, policies and practices that are inclusive. Systems are in place to identify when children have barriers affecting their learning, followed by specific interventions to help children overcome these barriers. This practice of personalising learning applies to all children so that adaptive learning is part of our curriculum as a whole.

For academically higher attaining children, this means provision of appropriate challenge to develop their particular talents. Where children are identified as needing additional support in any aspect, the school follows the SEND Code of Practice. This ensures that each child’s needs are individually and appropriately catered for, and that any outside agencies are involved in providing guidance and support.

We want our children to be safe, achieve, be healthy, enjoy life and grow up to be successful adults who will make a positive contribution to the society in which they live.

Our school vision and values promote this:
