At Hollyfast, we believe that the curriculum should be broad and balanced whilst providing for all the needs of the children. We aim to develop all our children intellectually, physically, morally and spiritually through experiences in and out of school.
Wherever possible our subjects are linked together to allow children to deepen and apply their understanding, equipping them to become lifelong learners who are able to ask questions, engage in deep thinking and reflect on their learning.
We use the National Curriculum to form the basis of the subjects we teach. The core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science are taught on their own and through our core-skill rehearsal approach to the foundation subjects of Art & Design, Computing, Design & Technology, Languages, Geography, History, Music and Physical Education. We encourage children to make connections between their own ideas, their experiences and the content of each subject, deepening their knowledge and applying it to all learning. Religious Education is taught in accordance with the Education Reform Act 1988 and as directed by Coventry's agreed syllabus.
