School Lunch Menu's

School Census 3rd October 2024

School census day is a really important day for us.  A large chunk of school funding is based on how many children have a school lunch on this day.  This funding goes directly to maintain resources and a good quality of education for your children.

At Hollyfast Primary School we pride ourselves on the quality of our food, which meets the Children’s Food Trust Guidelines and is cooked freshly, on-site by our dedicated team of kitchen staff. You can be assured that your child will receive an excellent, well-balanced meal. We particularly like children to have a filling, hot dinner during the winter months.

School meals are free for all pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, after which at only £2.50 per day, our school meals represent excellent value for money. We can support you to claim for Free School Meals if you are on benefits or a low income which means your child will receive a free meal throughout their whole time at Hollyfast. *

The menu has been created with ideas from the children, collected through the School Council. There is much improved variety and the re-introduction of the popular roast dinner on a Wednesday.

Hollyfast is a nut free school and we are keen to meet with parents of children with particular dietary needs including allergies, gluten free, wheat free and dairy free. There is always a vegetarian option.

*If you are on benefits or a low income, it is really important that you apply for Free School Meals, even if they are in Reception or Years 1-3 when their meal is free. This is because the school can get funding to provide further support for your child, for example subsidised trips and visits.  For more information please look under the Parents/Carers Information Tab for Free School Meals and Pupil Premium information

Please note changes to week 3, Wednesday's green option.
