What is Pupil Premium Funding?

Pupil Premium is additional funding allocated to schools by the government to help address barriers to learning and close the gap in attainment for disadvantaged pupils.

My child is in KS1, therefore, I do not need to apply for Free School Meals, should I still apply for Pupil Premium funding?

Yes! The school will miss out on lots of additional funding, which we could use to support your child and our school.

Is my child eligible?

Pupil Premium funding is allocated to schools based on the number of pupils who are:

  • In receipt of Free School Meals or have received Free School Meals in the last 6 years
  • In Care
  • Children of the British Armed Services
  • Pupils adopted from care
How do I know if my child is eligible for Free School Meals?

If you are in receipt of one of the following benefits, you can apply for Pupil Premium funding!

  • Universal Credit with an annual net earned
  • Income of no more than £7,400.
  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The guarantee element of Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (with no Working Tax Credit) with an annual income of no more than £16,190
